Artisan-crafted Jewellery

The name AUGENTA is derived from a combination of the Latin words for gold and silver, Aurum and Argentum.

Founder and owner Dylan Evans graduated with a B.A degree in Jewellery Design from the University of Stellenbosch in 1990.

Our doors opened in May 1992 in Dorp Street, Stellenbosch and in 1998 we moved to our present premises at 7 Andringa Street. 

We emphasise the use of natural gemstones and rarer African gems in our designs and create unique handmade jewellery, simple and functional, yet individual and enduring, with plenty of colour.

A good piece of jewellery is the end result of an integrated process of consultation between a client and the expertise brought to bear by an experienced and qualified artisan. The experience then becomes enriching and rewarding for all the parties involved. The design and manufacturing process should ideally be carried out by the same artisan to produce a piece of jewellery which has a richer and deeper context than just its monetary value.
